Boxing “Get Moving!” Boxing World Urges Devin Haney To Return admin - December 12, 2024 0 [ad_1] By KenWoods123 – 12/12/2024 – Comments Fans and promoters say Devin Haney needs to get busy with his career and stop sitting on the sidelines regrouping after his loss last April. He lost a 12-round majority decision to Ryan Garcia in an upset on April 20th in Brooklyn. That defeat seems to have taken something out of the former two-division world champion. A Year On The Sidelines Bill Haney said this week that he has “Big news” coming soon for Devin’s next fight, but he’s not giving any hints about who it could be or what weight class. If Devin moves up to 147, he could fight for a world title against WBC champion Mario Barrios or WBA champ Eimantas Stanionis. IBF champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis is interested in fighting those guys, but he’s been too slow to make the fights happen. Bill would move quickly to make them happen if that’s where he wants Devin to go. Promoter Eddie Hearn feels it’s important for Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) to get back in action, noting that he’ll have been out of the ring for almost a year when he returns. That’s not a good thing for the 26-year-old former two-division world champion Haney to be doing if he wants to stay sharp. Haney is losing a lot of money by staying out of the ring, and he could have already defended against Sandor Martin and fought IBF champion Liam Paro in a unification. “He Needs To Get Moving” “Let’s see what Devin does next. For me, I think he needs to get moving. He fought in April. It’s now December. He’s not going to fight in January. He’s going to be out for nearly a year by the time it’s all said and done,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV about Devin Haney being inactive since his loss to Ryan Garcia on April 20th. “I’d like to see Devin back in the ring. I think he’s a tremendous talent.” That slow grind builds character.. — Devin Haney (@Realdevinhaney) December 12, 2024 Boxing News 24 » “Get Moving!” Boxing World Urges Devin Haney to Return Last Updated on 12/12/2024 [ad_2] Source link
