The major tournaments might be over, but there’s another prize that many of golf’s best will be battling for this weekend.

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and many other big names will be competing for the gold medal in the men’s singles golf tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The competition will have four rounds and 72 total holes played. However, the golfer with the lowest cumulative score will win a gold medal, while the golfers with the second- and third-lowest scores will win a silver and bronze medal, respectively.

The tournament will be played at Le Golf National, located right outside Paris, which is a par-71 course that’s 7,247 yards long.

The course might be familiar to some die-hard golf fans as the 2018 Ryder Cup was played here.

As for betting on this event, we’ve got you covered with everything you need, from the odds to best bets.

We hit big on Jhonattan Vegas’ huge win at the 3M Open, cashing in on a +7000 ticket. Hopefully, we can run it back again this week!

Let’s dive into the action.

FAVORITES

As is often the case on the PGA Tour, Scheffler is the clear-cut favorite to win the gold at +330. He has already won six tournaments this season, and is now seeking to add a gold medal to his trophy case.

Schauffele isn’t far behind, holding +550 odds to win. Understabdnly so, after winning The Open two weeks ago and being the defending gold medal winner.

McIlroy has +750 odds to win the gold. He was in a seven-golfer playoff for the bronze medal in 2020 Olympics, but lost early on in the playoff.

Rahm has climbed up the oddsboard in recent days, moving from +1400 to +1000.

Fleetwood has also made a climb, going from +2000 to +1800. The Englishman actually played a major role in Team Europe’s dominant win at the Ryder Cup in 2018.

Now that we teed off with the basics, let’s approach the top favorites and my portfolio for this tournament.

Let’s check out the latest odds for the top favorites from DraftKings Sportsbook.

LONG-SHOT OUTRIGHT BETS TO MAKE

If you follow me on Twitter or read this column, you know I love betting on golf long shots (+1500 to +2000 or longer). There’s just something thrilling about holding a lottery ticket deep into Sunday. It also presents you with multiple hedging opportunities if you want to eliminate some of your risks.

A lot of my bets this week are based on course history and form, so here are a couple of guys worth sprinkling pizza money on:

Tommy Fleetwood +2000
Tom Kim +2500
Alex Noren +3500
Matt Fitzpatrick +4000
